In "Italy Art Month", we are working on the art of "Rose Windows"

ITALY
aly, country of south-central Europe, occupying a peninsula that juts deep into the Mediterranean Sea. Italy comprises some of the most varied and scenic landscapes on Earth and is often described as a country shaped like a boot. The intellectual and moral faculties of humankind have found a welcome home in Italy, one of the world’s most important centres of religion, visual arts, literature, music, philosophy, culinary arts, and sciences. Michelangelo, the painter and sculptor, believed that his work was to free an already existing image; Giuseppe Verdi heard the voices of the ancients and of angels in music that came to him in his dreams; Dante forged a new language with his incomparable poems of heaven, hell, and the world between. Those and many other Italian artists, writers, designers, musicians, chefs, actors, and filmmakers have brought extraordinary gifts to the world.


ROSE WİNSOWS

The rose window is one of the most representative elements of Romanesque art and architecture. In this work we want to present 7 rose windows from 7 Apulian Romanesque cathedrals: Foggia, Siponto, Lucera, San Severo, Troia, Cerignola and Bovino - which were built between the 11th and 14th centuries.

Each of these rose windows was designed according to the particular stylistic approach of the corresponding architect, the construction budget and, finally, the architectural composition of the main elevation. Their fretwork circular shape with a mainly radial tracery, and their complex geometry, have made these elements one of the most representative objects in Romanesque and then in Gothic art .

For December, We are going to the point where Asia and Europe meet: Turkey!  In "Turkey Art Month", we are working on the art of "Çini (Tile)". Throughout its history it has acted as both a barrier and a bridge between the two continents. Turkey is situated at the crossroads of the Balkans, Caucasus, Middle East, and eastern Mediterranean. Nearly all of the country is in Asia, comprising the oblong peninsula of Asia Minor—also known as Anatolia (Anadolu). We Had Our First Webinar!

 Carried out in partnership with Turkey, Croatia, Italy, Greece; The first teachers webinar of the "Mobility of Local Art Values" project was held. In the webinar, the partners had the opportunity to get to know each other. Thus, they developed motivation to work together.
